Professor Yasunobu Nakamura will receive the 2023 NEC C&C Award together with Professor Tsai Jaw-Shen of Tokyo University of Science, the NEC C&C Foundation announced on October 10. The prize will be awarded to Professor Nakamura and Professor Tsai for their “contributions to the field of quantum information technology, including the development of superconducting qubits and quantum computers”. Dr. Guido van Rossum of Microsoft Corporation will also receive the award as Group B, for his “major contributions to the development of the Python programming language and its use as open-source software”. The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 29 at a hotel in Tokyo.
