Associate Professor Shuntaro Takeda and his team, in collaboration with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), have succeeded in realising the world’s first general-purpose optical quantum computing platform capable of computing with highly quantum optical pulses that also enable nonlinear operations. The optical circuit configuration used in this platform is an original method with excellent scalability, which was proposed by Associate Professor Takeda and his team in 2017. The resulting paper was published on 16 January in PRX Quantum in the field of quantum technology.
