Momoko Onodera (D3), a graduate student in Machida Laboratory (Institute of Industrial Science), received the 15th L’OREAL-UNESCO Women Scientists in Japan Incentive Award for 2020 on Monday 20 July. L’OREAL Japan announced the award to Momoko Onodera for her “contribution to the realization of graphene-based terahertz light-emitting and photo-detecting devices and the improvement of device quality”. The award aims to support young female scientists and encourage their research activities in Japan, and it is hoped that Ms Onodera will continue to play an active role in this field.
