Professor Takao Someya (Graduate School of Engineering) received the Science and Technology Award (Research Category) for his “pioneering research on stretchable electronics”. The Young Researcher Award went to Project Associate Professor Yasutomo Ohta (Quantum Dot Lab) and Associate Professor Mark Holmes James (Institute of Industrial Science). The reason for the award to Associate Professor Ota was “Research on quantum electrodynamics and its applications using semiconductor optical nanocavities,” and the reason for the award to Associate Professor Holmes was “Research on gallium nitride quantum dot high temperature operating single photon sources “.
