Project Lecturer Satoru Masubuchi and Professor Tomoki Machida and colleagues have developed a robotic system that can freely stack atomic layer sheets such as graphene. This “two-dimensional materials manufacturing system (2DMMS)” automates the stacking of atomic layers, which has been done manually since the discovery of graphene in 2004. It is expected to contribute to the development of research on atomic layer systems in the future.
