A research group led by Professor Takao Someya (Graduate School of Engineering), Lecturer Tomoyuki Yokota, and Professor Tsuyoshi Sekitani (Osaka University) has developed a method for forming molecularly oriented films on a variety of substrates including plastics, leading to the development of high-performance organic transistor circuits, such as those driven at voltages as low as 1 V. The achievement is expected to lead to the realization of organic integrated circuits. The paper was published in the electronic edition of Nature Nanotechnology on 18 December.
