NanoQuine held the 4th Photonics Innovation (PI) Seminar on Wednesday, May 25 at the Main Conference Room, Building An, Komaba Research Campus. The lecturers were Prof. Kenichi Sato, Department of Electronics and Information Systems, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University, and Prof. Takahiro Nakamura, Visiting Professor and General Manager of the Photonics Electronics Technology Association, who gave lectures on “Data Center Networks and Optical Switching” and “What is Silicon Photonics? The seminar included a tutorial on how silicon photonics can be used to address the information network and power consumption issues faced by data centres. The seminar was held under the auspices of the Photonics Innovation Co-Creation Program of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), and was attended by a full house.
