QD Laser (Mr. Mitsuru Sugawara, President) and NanoQuine(Prof. Yasuhiko Arakawa, Director) have jointly developed a laser retinal scanning wearable information terminal “Laser Eyewear” and announced it to the press. At the same time, a prototype of the laser eyewear was demonstrated at the NanoQuine’s exhibition booth at the University of Tokyo’s Komaba Research Campus, which was open to the public on June 6 and 7. Various models of wearable information terminals are attracting attention as the next generation of information terminals to smartphones, but all of them are terminals with displays such as liquid crystal. The Laser Eyewear is a system that uses weak light from a small laser to directly image the retina. At the public exhibition, there was a great deal of interest in the device and many visitors came to try it out.
