Assistant Professor Tetsuo Kodera (Tokyo Institute of Technology, promoted to Associate Professor on 1 May) was awarded the 2014 Young Scientist’s Award by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on Tuesday 15 April during Science Week. The reason for the award was “Research on spins in semiconductor quantum nanostructures”, in recognition of his research results on silicon qubits.
