Prof. Yasuhiko Arakawa was awarded the 14th Outstanding Achievement Award of the Japan Society of Applied Physics(JSAP) at the Spring Meeting of JSAP held on March 17 at Fuchinobe Campus, Aoyama Gakuin University. The award was given for his “pioneering research on quantum dot lasers”, and a commemorative lecture entitled “Development of quantum dot research – from basic research to laser marketization” was given on the same day.
